The user is having difficulties installing Map Editor, what can I do?

Check the following:

  1. Is Java runtime environment currently installed? If not, download Java
  2. Does the user have permission to install applications?
  3. How does the user access the internet? With proxy or without proxy?

While trying to log into Map Display, the user is getting http errors

Check the internet connection to be sure that the user can go to other sites. Also check that the Map of Medicine url is not blocked before contacting Map of Medicine Support.

The user received windows updater fault exception: "There was a problem launching the Map Editor (configuration file error). Please try again later. If the problem persists contact your system administrator"

Verify the following :

  • Does the user have admin rights on the local machine?
  • Run the installer instead of downloading it on to the desktop
  • Uninstall both Map Editor shell and Map Editor and reinstall

Users in the South of England: User gets an error when they submit the registration form.

  • The user has already registered using the same email address they have put in the registration form.
  • Their existing account may be active, pending approval, rejected, or deleted, but it will still block them registering with Athens
